We Don’t Talk About It, multimedia installation, 2008

We Don’t Talk About It explores family secrets through five short vignettes of home movie footage and narration.  A sheer wall was constructed out of 2x4s and white muslin stretched over the frame; keyholes were sewn into a panel of the wall and keys were suspended from rafters across the room.  The video was projected in onto a plaster wall in a basement and was visible through this skeletal wall of fabric, for a clearer glimpse the viewer was urged to look through a keyhole.

The installation was on view for a month at Work Gallery, and was reviewed in Arts Lounge.  This project would inform my research interests and creative work for my MFA thesis project in the coming year.
